Gowan Metalworks is a creator of ethically sourced , custom artisan jewelry. All pieces are made by hand in Portland Oregon, using predominantly traditional Etruscan Goldsmithing methods, as well as traditional Silversmithing and modern blacksmithing and copperworking methods. Gowan works primarily with gold and silver using traditional hand-tools (torches, handsaws, hammers, anvils and files), and uses modern motorized implements only for finishing work. Each piece is unique, and most pieces are made-to-order. Gowan specializes in functional mechanisms, articulated jewelry, and applying traditional methods to modern applications.
